The other day I broke down and bought a gym membership. I was not going to, but the fact of the matter is I think I ate my weight in Thanksgiving food. Now very few of pants actually fit without me having to tug and pull for five minutes to get them on. This is not fun. The first few workouts I felt very awkward and uncomfortable, and honestly I kind of still do. I think I am the only person there who is out of shape. On top of my current out of shape condition, I was trying to look cool on the treadmill. I suppose I succeeded until I got off the treadmill and fell down two stairs. Of course at the very moment I regained my balance and made sure my skinned knee wasn’t bleeding too badly I saw an old friend from high school. Great.
At that point I did not know what to do. I mean if you see someone at the gym do you just walk up and hug and catch up? Or do you just smile and wave. For me at that point, I just simply hung my head in shame because I knew she had seen me fall. But for the future, I found this handy little guide. Maybe it will help you out too!
