Wait, No WiFi?

It’s official, I am spoiled.  Not spoiled as in I get everything that I want all the time, but technologically speaking I am spoiled.  I did not realize this fact until today though.  You see I had to take a trip to the laundry mat because our well runs out of water when I try to wash a load of laundry, which is incredibly not fun.  Well, if you have ever washed your laundry at one of these places, then you know that a lot of sitting around and waiting is involved.  I thought instead of wasting my Saturday morning, I would just take the ol’ MacBook and get some work done on a Friday.  I mean I have to sit around and work anyway, right?  Well, lo and behold the place does not have WiFi!  What the heck am I supposed to do?  I gave up my wireless card years ago and haven’t missed it until today, and I could turn on my mobile hotspot if I wanted to pay a butt load of money.  Ridiculous.

Is this only my problem?  I know I work in a field where technology and things are a step ahead, but how is it that places can’t provide some type of internet connection?  Am I that out of touch with reality?  I can’t imagine having to do this once a week and just sit there.  No iPad, no laptop, and no fun.

So, here I sit, typing my post in a word processor just waiting to get to a WiFi hotspot to post it on my blog, spoiled by all the wonderful places who cater to nerds like me who cannot live without a connection to the internet and the outside world.  Maybe it’s time I shell out the cash to set up my mobile hotspot…I’ll have to think about that.
